Its a wonderful day and I am very excited to post a very cute design for all those who sport short nails.(Psst....I am sporting short nails too...can't play my guitar otherwise!! :/)
This one is really simple and all you need is your favorite color nail polish and a nail art pen/a toothpick.

I call this 'Graduated Dots'.
You can choose any colour you want. But make sure you choose 2 colours which are contrasting because you want the design to look bright.
I love yellow colour. So i have chosen yellow here for he base coat and black for the dots.
You can also choose light blue, light green as base coats. They would go well with black polish for dots.
I have painted my nails with the yellow polish as the base coat. To make the graduated dots i have used a nail art pen(black). These pens are very conveniently available at any cosmetic store.
These pens come in all basic shades and are very easy to use. They are quite cheap too(I bought them for INR 40 each...pretty cheap right?? :))
They have a micro tip through which you can squeeze out the paint for drawing detailed designs and they also have a brush if you turn open the lid, which can be used for drawing lines. But if you don't find them at a store near you, you can use the sharp edge of a toothpick or an empty dot pen refill for making the dots.
So coming back to the design, after the yellow paint was dry i used my black nail art pen's micro tip side to draw dots on the base coat.
Since i wanted graduated dots, I initially started with a little bigger sized dot. I gradually reduced the size of the dots until i got to the tip of the nail.
And with toothpicks, just dip them in the polish bottle and start dotting.
I'd suggest you to practice the dots with the polish on a sheet of paper before trying it on your base coat because if you mess up then you will have to remove the entire base coat and redo it again.
So there is no need to worry if you have short nails, you can still make it look stunning with nail art.
So...go on...try it! :)
